How our hats are made, how they fit, and how ordering, shipping and returns work.
They're built here. Every Sandlot hat is cut, sewn and assembled in our own shop in Kansas City, Missouri, by our own team. We cut the fabric, sew every panel and put the whole hat together under one roof, so it's built in the USA, not just embroidered here. Like nearly every hat shop in the country, we buy our fabric, mesh and snaps from overseas suppliers, and our brims are made in Missouri from recycled detergent bottles. Here's how we think about made in USA.
A hat made in the USA is cut and sewn here. A hat decorated in the USA is usually an imported blank that only gets its embroidery or print here, which is how most hats sold as American-made are produced. Ours are cut and sewn from the fabric up. Here's how to tell the difference.
Our shop is at 2915 Southwest Blvd in Kansas City, Missouri. It's where we cut, sew and ship every hat.
Our hats are one size with an adjustable closure, so you can dial in the fit. We don't make fitted hats. The closure type is listed on each product page.
Spot clean with cold water and a little mild soap, then air dry with the crown shaped. Skip the washing machine and the dryer, because they're rough on the shape and the hardware.
Most in-stock orders placed before 1:00pm Central ship the same day. During the holiday rush, allow an extra 24 hours.
You can return like-new, full-price items within 30 days of purchase (US orders). Items must be in their original condition and packaging, and return shipping is free on orders over $99. Sale and Second Quality items ending in .97, and gift cards, can't be returned. Orders placed from Black Friday through December can be returned until January 31. Yes. International orders are final sale, so they can't be returned.
Yes. We make custom hats for teams, shops, breweries, wedding parties and companies, with low minimums and a sample before you commit to a run. They're made the same way as our own hats, in our Kansas City shop. See custom hats.
Yes. Retailers can apply for a wholesale account, and our blank hats are available if you want to decorate your own.
Yes. We're an official licensee of the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum in Kansas City, and a good share of what we make honors that history. Shop our Negro Leagues hats.
