What is a structured 5-panel hat?
A five-panel cap is built from five pieces of fabric, with the front made as one continuous panel instead of two halves split by a seam. Structured means there's internal support behind that front panel, so the crown stands up and holds its shape rather than sitting soft and low.
What's the difference between a 5-panel and a 6-panel?
A six-panel has a seam running down the center of the front, splitting it into two panels. A five-panel doesn't, so the front is one uninterrupted piece. That seamless front is why five-panels are preferred for larger logos and appliques, and it gives the cap a cleaner, flatter face.
How is this different from an unstructured dad hat?
A dad hat is unstructured, so the crown sits low and soft and molds to your head. A structured five-panel stands up with a defined shape and holds it. Different look, different feel, same shop and same standards.
